Another day

Well here it is.  The last day of the year.  It’s really no different than any other day except that we pretend it is so.  Since we’re pretending, let me use it as a yard stick by contrasting some things we’ve “known” and haven’t “known” …

A hundred and one years ago we “knew” that cars would never be able to exceed 15 miles per hour because the human heart couldn’t handle any faster speed.

Fifty-one years ago we “knew” that man would not be able to land on the moon and return safely.

Just twenty-five years ago we “knew” that the Soviet Union was an inseparable super-power.

This year we “know” that we are dependent on oil and coal for energy.  We “know” that peace on this earth is unattainable.  We “know” that human’s are stubborn and simply can’t adapt to the challenges we seem to create for ourselves.

Imagine – for a moment – what we’ll “know” next year?!

“Be the change you want to see in this world.”

Ghandi said it.  I wish I’d said it first.

Peace and gratitude,

GPK
