Curve balls, home runs and metaphors

Okay, I’m going to flog a metaphor to death here but hold on, it may be worth it…

In the baseball game of life…

Sometimes it rains but the game is still pretty good.  Playing in the mud may get you dirty but it’s exilerating and it reminds you of what being a child was all about.

Sometimes your get traded for no apparent reason but you remember that there are always three sides of the story.  Your’s, their’s and the truth.

Stats, stats, stats.  Lots of people keep statistics but at the end of the day, it’s just a wonderful game.

Getting to first base seems like the hardest thing in the world.  When you get there you realize what all the fuss was about because from there, it’s easier to get home.

Every day you get thrown curve balls.  You don’t have to swing at every one but if you do, and you hit it, they make the most gratifying home runs!

At the end of the day we can’t control the entire game.  We can hardly control our part of it.  We can always control weather we swing at the pitches or dive for the catches.  We fall down, stand up, brush ourselves off, hit the dug-out for a while and come back out for another inning!
